Welcome to Slavens - Home of the Storm

"At Slavens we take the high road. We genuinely care about ourselves, each other and our school. We show and receive respect by using kind words and actions, listening thoughtfully, standing up for ourselves and others, and taking responsibility for our own behavior and learning. This is who we are even when no one is watching."

The 2009-2010 FOSS campaign is going on now!

We hope every family can contribute so that Slavens can continue to go "Beyond the Basics" for our kids. Contributions will help pay the salaries of the Music and Drama teacher, and buy materials and supplies for Art, Music, Drama, Spanish, Mathletics and the Geography Bee, as well as support our Technology and Band programs. Can you imagine Slavens without these programs? To donate online, just click here!

Developing your Child's Character in Today's Challenging Culture

Character Education and the PTA present Parent/Teacher Education Night, Thursday, October 1, 7 pm, Slavens Auditorium, with Ken Fisher, Lincoln Center for Character Development.

Focusing on Performance and Moral Character, Mr. Fisher will discuss how to help our children learn to treat others with RESPECT and CARE, and STRIVE to do their best work and increase their "MORAL INTELLIGENCE." This promises to be an interesting and informative evening with something for all parents, from middle school to kindergarten.
